The house was built during the 17th and 18th Century and became the home of the Oakeley family, once the owners of the World's largest subterranean slate quarry. The house and grounds are the home of the Snowdonia National Park Training Centre. The grounds make a lovely afternoon stroll (or venture further in for something a little longer and more strenuous). On a nice day enjoy your picnic or visit the cafe on the terrace and enjoy the view of the Vale of Ffestiniog. A couple of interesting bits of information.
Plas Tan y Bwlch is about 15-20 minutes drive from Cadair View Lodge accommodation at Trawsfynydd.
